a) Education: Minimum of a Master’s degree in environmental economics/finance/business development, natural resource management, tropical terrestrial/marine ecology or other closely related field of study;
b) 10 years of experience in financial management planning, with a minimum of 5 years in sustainable financing related to natural resources protection, protected areas management or related field;
c) Advanced practical knowledge of the management of terrestrial and marine protected areas systems, including protected area management, design, operations and evaluation;
d) Experience of developing protected area sustainable finance/business plans
e) Proven experience in stakeholder engagement at the national and community levels, including efficient facilitation during meetings between various stakeholders (government, NGOs, CBOs, international community and local communities);
f) Previous experience in writing Project Documents for GEF-funded projects is an added advantage;
g) Fluency in English;
h) Excellent analytical and report writing skills;
i) Proactive and able to work with minimal supervision and high degree of initiative, reliability, flexibility, and self-motivation;
j) Professionalism: flexibility to make ad-hoc changes as and when the need arises; ability to perform under stress; willingness to keep flexible working hours.
